- I am a small business owner thinking on brushing up on some management and accounting course work would you recommend that I pursue some management and accounting certificate courses?
- Does registering online guarantee a spot on the course or seminar to which I have applied?
Once you have registered online there is a three-business day grace period in which your spot will be held. The only thing that secures placement on a course is payment. If at the end of the three days no payment has been received another applicant may take your spot.
- Why register online if it does not guarantee a spot?
Because it is a great time saver. In the past, a large number of students would come to BIMAP to fill out and submit their registration forms then return on a subsequent day to pay. This pre-registration process allows you to virtually forward all application forms into BIMAP leaving payment and securing your text as your last step.
- I am considering applying to your Diploma programme but I am wondering how recognized is the BIMAP Diploma?
The BIMAP’s Programmes are accredited locally and overseas. The University of the West Indies and the Barbados Community College both offer exemptions to students that have completed BIMAP’s management courses. This also applies to North American colleges and universities. Additionally the BIMAP diploma satisfies the entry requirements of the University of Surrey’s MBA/MSc Programmes, a practice that has been adopted by other British universities.
- Are BIMAP’s educational programmes open to anyone?
Yes. The 3-month certificate programmes are offered to anyone interested in pursuing continuing education. Both the 2-year diploma and the 1-year certificate programmes have entry requirements. (Click to see requirements)
- Are registration forms only available at BIMAP offices?
No, registration forms are available online as well. Just click on the print form option and the form should be available to you.
- If I miss a course this term, can I take that course the following term?
The answer is yes, if you have chosen a course that is offered every term but if not, you will have to wait until that course is offered again in a subsequent term. If that does happen please explore any options available when you ask a counselor about a related course.
- I signed up for class and had to withdraw for personal reasons after two sessions can I get a refund?
You will receive a refund, but a penalty of $150.00 and an administration fee of $50.00 will be deducted from the course fee if withdrawal from the course is effected (in writing) on before the fourth session of the course. BIMAP has a comprehensive refund policy please click here for further information.
- I have heard that in some cases students receive discounts is this true?
Yes, those students that are government employees or those that are employed at member companies are offered courses at reduced rates. Click here to see if your company is a member company and or get more information on what it takes to join.
- I know that BIMAP is primarily a business-training institute but I was told that BIMAP offers MCSE/MCSA, Network + and other International certification courses is this true?
It is true. BIMAP does offer those courses as well as other network and programming certification courses, which are conducted at our Habour Road facility. The certification testing is also conducted at BIMAP for the certifying body. These courses are targeted at experienced practitioners within the given computer disciplines. - I am a small business owner thinking on brushing up on some management and accounting course work would you recommend that I pursue some management and accounting certificate courses?
Assuming that you are referring to BIMAP’s 3-month certificate courses, pursuing this course of study maybe a viable option. However, our Business Development Division conducts practical business management training programmes, which cater to small business owners, please contact a BIMAP representative for further information. An example of such training is the 3–month General Management course which comprehensively, covers topics such as marketing, accounting, customer service and management.
